Welcome To Miami

The ultimate weekend getaway, Miami is one of the best places to visit during the cold winter months. For New Yorkers especially, Miami offers one of the easiest warm spots to get to. Take a Friday off work and wake up around 6am, you will be at the beach by noon with a Mai Tai in hand.

Hit The Pool

Miami is so much fun and hanging out by the pool is the thing to do. The pool scene in Miami is a little different depending on the hotel you decide to stay at. The W and SLS are a little more "unz unz", the Setai luxurious and the Edition relaxing. Our top pick is probably the Edition for the pool scene because it's just the right amount of crowded, the restaurant offers one of the best lunches we have had in a while and the beach club is awesome.

Skip The Club

We had a great dinner at Hakkasan and as we were strolling out of the Fontainebleau couldn't help but notice LIV nightclub. We went, had a little too much fun, and spent far too much of our Sunday in the hotel room. 100% not worth it.

The Hotels

Fantastic Options

The Miami Beach EDITION

Our favorite hotel to stay at in Miami Beach! Incredibly chic and serene atmosphere and not at all trashy, which you see a lot in Miami. The rooms are tasteful and very quiet, which is another bonus for Miami. I love the relaxed yet chic pool scene and the service while at the pool and the beach was incredible. A great hotel for families or couples looking for a luxurious escape, close to the action but you don't have to worry about drunk idiots by the pool a much more refined atmosphere. The Setai, Miami Beach

Elegant, serene, zen and peaceful spot in Miami where you can escape the craziness of South Beach. They boast three great pools to enjoy and also a lovely beach. Incredible staff. Perfect for couples or older guests who want a more peaceful scene. A truly luxurious hotel. Note: A member of American Express Fine Hotels & Resort program

Soho Beach House

Founded by Soho House, a private club, there Miami Beach outpost in a cool art deco building on swanky beachside Collins Avenue also offers rooms to nonmembers. A hipe place to stay for those in the know looking for a slightly more relaxed vibe. Bar carts go around to your room at night. Full service spa and home to italian favorite Cecconi's.

The Betsy - South Beach

Perfect for couples and those who love a smaller hotel experience.

The Tides South Beach

More adult atmosphere, you are not coming here for the scene. Great large rooms that all boast ocean views and lovely service. Their pool is in a courtyard and no beach scene though they will set up beach chairs for you. a true gem of a small hotel. Great for people looking for a smaller hotel and a quiet tranquil experience Note: A member of American Express Fine Hotels & Resort program

W South Beach

Party scene Note: A member of American Express Fine Hotels & Resort program

1 Hotel South Beach

A brand new upscale and eco chic hotel on South Beach. This massive property has lots of potential but is failing on service. This property also lacks a soul. Note: A member of American Express Fine Hotels and Resort program

The Food

Great Food

OLA

For years, we have been returning to our favorite incredible pan-latin ceviche spot in the Sanctuary hotel. When people are visiting Miami, this is our first recommendation. Perfect for a date night or special occasion.

Joe's Stone Crab

Stone Crab lovers flock to this Miami institution for stone crabs and a killer key lime pie. Get there early and be prepared to wait, at this always popular spot where the crowd is a very mixed back all brought together for incredible seafood. Be prepared to pay for the pleasure of these delicious crabs but I promise it is worth it!

Prime 112 Restaurant

This sceney SoBe steak spot is always buzzing, even with a reservation be prepared to wait. Great people watching and delicious steaks make this a go-to for many.

Hakkasan

Scene, delicious Chinese food

Matador Room

My favorite spot for an outdoor lunch in South Beach and I really don't think you can beat the atmosphere at this Jean George spot. My advice splurge on the Pineapple cocktail (or a glass of rosé), order the sweet pea guacamole and do not miss there grilled grouper tacos ( I love them with a large dash of their orange hot sauce).

Casa Tua Restaurant

A lovely, chic and romantic oasis in South Beach. Gorgeous interior and a very beautiful garden to dine in where you enjoy delicious Italian food. Tons of beautiful people flock here for the expensive but worth it northern Italien fare.

Cecconi's

A chic Italian eatery in a cool outdoor setting. A great spot for a fun night out with friends.
